If you have just lost a loved one, the pastors and staff of First Presbyterian Church, Ocala want to provide consolation and support to you and your family. We can also assist you in making arrangements for a service, reception and committal/burial service as needed.
When you are ready, we invite you and any family members you wish to include to meet with one of our pastors to begin planning the service. During this meeting, your pastor will guide you through the process, answer any questions you may have, and help you create a meaningful service that honors your loved one.
To schedule a planning meeting, please contact the church office by phone or email.
It is our privilege to offer a reception in the Fellowship Hall following the service, providing a welcoming space for family and friends to gather and spend time together. A simple reception with beverages and light refreshments is provided at no cost to the family.
Families may also choose to have the reception catered at their own expense, and our staff will coordinate room setup and access with the caterer.
More information can be found in our Funeral Planning Guide.
Planning a funeral or memorial service can feel like a lot to navigate, especially during a time of loss. Our Funeral Planning Guide is designed to help make the process a little easier and to give you an idea of what to expect before meeting with one of our pastors.
Inside, you’ll find helpful information about planning a service at First Presbyterian Church, including suggested Scripture readings, commonly selected hymns, service options, fees, and other practical details.
We also invite you to review the Funeral Planning Form, which can help you begin thinking through your wishes or those of your loved one. You are welcome to complete the form before your initial meeting with a pastor, but there is no need to have everything decided ahead of time. Our pastor will walk alongside you, answer your questions, and help you plan a service that thoughtfully honors and celebrates the life of your loved one.
If you are able, simply reviewing the guide before your meeting can be a helpful place to begin.
